About the need for external kafka backups
We are considering configuring an external kafka using Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK).
Is there a requirement in Pega that I need to replicate using MirrorMaker etc. in case of an MSK failure, and then recover from there if there is a problem?
In principle, the data streamed to MSK is the recognition stored on the Database.
Therefore, we are considering creating a new MSK and rebuilding Pega to recover if there is a problem, without backing up the MSK.

Pega Platform can connect to any external Kafka including Amazon Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka (MSK). However Pega does not support vendor specific security features such as IAM roles. There is no specific mention of a requirement to use MirrorMaker for replication in the provided context. It is advisable to evaluate your backup and recovery strategy based on your specific deployment needs.
