It seems like you're describing steps for modifying the application definition in Pega's Dev Studio. Here's a more streamlined version of the instructions:
- In Dev Studio, click the application name in the header and select Definition.
- In the Built on applications section, click Add application.
- In the new row, enter UIKit, and select the latest version using the Down arrow key.
- Next to the previous version of UIKit, click the Delete icon.

After you've create the application, open the definition of the base application on top of which you want to add the new one and then add it and save. You can get more info here.
