Need Perfomance Sugesstion for Connect-REST configured in PostFlowAction
Hello Everyone,
We have a flow, with two assignment A & B.
The Post flowaction of Assignment A configured with Activity with Connect-REST to fetch data from external API. T
the result from the API will be mapped to the UI fields in the Assignment B, We got this worked well.
Sometimes, the API took long to respond which add the BrowsInt Alert to PDC and the screen transitiion took ~25 sec to complete.
Any idea how to reduce the browser interaction time.

You need to ask the service provider about the timeout so that their response in received faster by Pega.

Hi @MatheswaranRavi: Were you able to check is it because of the API request or other logics in the system?
If it is purely because of the API, check is it because of the amount of data in the API.
You can also set response timeout in the connector.
To know why the API is slow, it is with your service provider to debug.

@ArulDevan I was able to confirm, If we comment out the API call. Perfomance in UI is good and no BorwserInt time is recorded.
Looking for a alternate approach to call this Connect-REST method instead of postflow action that would not impact the browser interaction

HI @MatheswaranRavi: Thanks for confirming. Is this API an eligible candidate for asynchronous integration? If the response form the external team is required immediately for any processing by the next persona involved in the flow?

Since you need data in UI of assignment B, you can use deferred load in section of assignment B. This will not take anytime while submission of assignment B and for the API taking too much to load you need to ask the service provider.
