Lightweight clipboard mode in Pega REST Service

Does anyone know how to use the 'Lightweight clipboard mode' capability in REST Service configuration for 8.4 or later version of Pega?  In the help document it gives below info but does not really explain  how to use and why we should use it..  

To run the service with lightweight clipboard pages, in the Lightweight clipboard mode section, select the clipboard page that you want to use.

  1. Select Use application settings.
  2. In the Setting name field, press the Down arrow key and select a clipboard page.

API

When we click 'Use application settings', not able to select a clipboard page for instance.. Can anyone help me on this?
