Issue while launching a url containing parenthesis () from Rich text editor via pega ui
Hi Team,
I gave a link (with parenthesis) in the Add Link option provided in Rich Text eidtor and On click it is not redirecting to the given link in the URL when accessed from PEGA.
Plesae note that it is working for a url without parenthesis (). Can you suggest solution for this issue ?
Sample url with parenthesis (jus to show the format of parenthesis being used in the url) : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa752574(VS.85).aspx

@VenkataSravyaB, on my Pega 8.5.3 environment this seems to be working fine. I suggest to upgrade to 8.5.3 or at least to the latest 8.4 patch release and retest.

@VenkataSravyaB, in general I recommend spending time in applying patches instead of finding workarounds, but it could also be that you're running into a non-Pega issue. You can try to URL encode your URL (https://www.urlencoder.org). That would for example replace ( with %28 and ) with %29 and makes your URL valid.

@Eric Rietveld Hi Eric,
but that "add link" option which as I mentioned in the initial post is a default one available in the rich text editor. how can I use the "URL encode" here to convert the url given in that add link option and check if its valid or not?
Please suggest an approach to achieve it

@VenkataSravyaB, my suggestion is to instruct the user who's creating the link to enter a valid URL. In case they accidently enter an invalid URL, for example with a '(' in it, a workaround might be for them to manually perform URL encoding and enter the encoded correct URL instead.
