Installing Pega 8.4 on Google Cloud
Hello,
I'm attempting to install Pega 8.4 on Google Cloud using the following guide (https://cloud.google.com/solutions/deploying-pega-platform-using-compute-engine-and-cloud-sql) however, the install is failing with the following error:
"Encountered a database problem when attempting to load jar onto PostgreSQL: ERROR: relation "sqlj.jar_repository" does not exist"
On investigation the sqlj schema has not been created. When I try to try this manually using the install.sql script in the resource folder a get a permissions error on the database:
"ERROR: permission denied for language c SQL state: 42501"
This seems to be due to the user not having superuser rights, which Google address they do not give for the CloudSQL instances.
Has anyone else had this issue or found a solution?

Hello,
Thanks for the response. There steps are you provided are for an installation where the Postgres database is running on the local machine, therefore the required jar file can be added locally. In my installation the database is managed via Google Cloud's CloudSQL function. Due to this I am not able to add the jar file directly to the database lib folder.
On further investigation I have found that the PL/Java extension is not available from Google but a request has been raised to have it added (https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/148964024). I believe you wont be able to run Pega 8.3 and above on CloudSQL until this is addressed.
