How to copy historical data from a property to declare index class property in production
Hi,
As part of a requirement we are planning to change the single value property (already in production) to embedded property to store multiple values and we are currently using single value property in reports as well. if we change the single value property to embedded property, the source will change and historical data will not be exported in reports.
We can create utility to open each work object and copy the data from property to another property, but looks it is a heavy operation in deployment and cant predict any misses to copy while running the operation.
any solution will be appreciated on how to move historical data from one source to another.

We are using agent to do this activity at the after hours of business to save the instances of each case to create record on index table.

From your query, I understand that you are trying to create a new property and copy the historical data of the old single value property to this new property. Correct me if my understanding is wrong.
Yes, as you said, opening each work object and copying the contents would be heavy operation. Also, you would have exposed the new property as it will be used for reporting. Therefore how about copying the contents at the database level i.e., from old column to new column created?

You could runs prpcUtils off hours with the reindex option.
