How to interrogate Google Map to calculate distance
Hi All,
We are using Google Map in our transport BPM application to calculate fare between 2 points after deriving kilometers by calling Google map API. Currently this step is manual. Is there anyway in Pega to introduce RPA to automate this step? If so then please give me some brief steps to be done in Pega and Openspan to enable automatic calculation of distance.

You can call the service via a C# script in Pega Robotics. I am not sure if the REST component will have the token ability required (I assume that is how you'd authenticate with the Google API, but I am not sure), but you can try to use it. If you already have the code in your BPM application, then I would convert it to C# and use the script component to call it. If you are attempting to automate the web page, that would be less efficient, especially considering that you already have the code to call the API. I did verify that you could potentially interrogate the fields though, but it is a multi-step process to automate a search in that manner.

Thanks for your prompt help. Will you kindly be able to specify which service you are referring here? Our requirement is:
1. In a portal, customer will specify start and end point of Journey
2. Pega RPA will compare 2 points and will derive the total distance between these two points using google map.
3. Pega RPA will compute the fare based on the distance.
4. Computed fare will be displayed to the user.

You can try using the API provided by google which returns json object.
