When we create a Pega property, for the Identifier, it needs to be a name that starts with a letter, and use only letters, numbers, and hyphens, forming a java identifier. Please check below link:

"@" symbol cannot be used in the property name when you create a new property.
However, in an activity or DT, if you try to do "property-set" to set value of "abc@xyz" to .pyName, it should be ok I think. Here .pyName is a text property, you can assign a string to it.
Perhaps I was ambiguous in my question. I was asking about the value of pyName, which in this case is used for proposition name within Pega Decisioning. I realize that it cannot be used in a property name.
