How to revert the build product file changes after the deployment?

Deployed the full application to higher environment. What is the best approach to undo/revert the product file in the higher env ?

What would be the best approach to delete the application rules and data instances form higher env?

Do we need to write a SQL query to delete the records from some of the OOTB tables?
