IS to IH Data Migration

Hi All,

We are trying to upgrade a DSM and Pega Marketing based application in 6.3 to Pega 7.3.1. As part of this activity, we are also planning to migrate the Interaction Services data into the Interaction History table. As I understand from some of the documentations in the PDN, the IS-IH data model has changed significantly. I have 2 asks in this regard -

1. Can you please provide a list of fields that have changed from the earlier version and how to map them against the old data model? I am expecting some transformation of data will be required in this regard

2. If you can provide me with the step to migrate the data from IS to IH, it will be most helpful.

All data-model changes and any data migration, should be scripted and documented as part of the platform/dsm upgrade where the change occurred.  I believe the biggest IH changes happened around 7.09, but I'm not certain of this.  Hope that helps.

Hi Saleem,

Thanks for your reply. What I understood from the PDN documentation is that, following are the changes from IS-IH 

1. 6.3 had 7 DIM tables, 7.3.1 has 9

2. 6.3 did not have Identity Matching Table, 7.3.1 has 1

3. Fact table has gone through significant changes. Column names have changed, old columns were removed in 7.3 and New columns were introduced.

 

Hence to refine my question further - 

1. What should be the best approach to match the data from 7 DIM tables to 9 DIM tables?

2. How to populate the columns of Identity Matching table in 7.3.1?

3. Is there any documentation or any information available that can help us map the older columns of the Fact table with New columns?
