How to refresh data by selecting corresponding files in the pop up window in Pega?
Hello people,
I'm new to Pega robotic automation and currently working on my first project.
The requirement of a sub-process is to open an excel worksheet-->Click data tab-->Refresh-->Select a file in the pop-up import window-->Open the selected file.
I've looked at the component properties in the Object Explorer, but I got lost in the massive amount of possible properties. I wonder if anyone can help me on how I can complete the above process in Pega automation.

When you automate and Excel file, you are going to be using the Excel Connector (it is available within the Toolbox under Connectors when you select the Office Version during your install). If you do not see it, then I would suggest that you uninstall Studio and re-install and be sure to select the correct version of Office. The Connector is basically a way to open an Excel file, close an Excel file, execute macros, extract a range as a DataTable, and Get/Set values in cells. To refresh a particular worksheet will require some code unless you can create a macro to do it and invoke that.
To perform any automation against the application itself, you are going to be limited in what you can do as there are not translators available for most Excel controls. You can interrogate Excel and get it to hook at Runtime while also using the Connector, however it is tricky and requires using MonitorAll as the StartMethod. You may be able to interrogate the popup window though and can write a normal automation against it.
If this is your first automation, be aware, that this particular one is going to require more experience with the product as well as an understanding of how to use the Office connector for Excel.
