How to call strategy from an activity in Pega 7.3.1
Hi Team ,
I am using Pega 7.3.1 in our project, for one of my project requirement I need to call strategy from a flow, however I am not able to find any smart shape in the flow or any method to be called from an activity to call the strategy since it was available in Pega 7.3.
The only option that I am getting is to run DataFlow from flow and ExecutedataFlow method in an activity.
Can you please help me out to give me the possible way out to overcome from this issue or suggest me some alternate approach to implement the same.

Hi Saayma,
Can you verify if your application is built on top of Pega DM.
If yes, then you will be able to see 'Run Interaction' shape in the flow context menu.
In the 'Run Interaction' shape you can refer an interaction rule, In the interaction rule you can refer a Strategy rule.

You no longer need to build your application on PegaDM to get decisioning functionality, as the core rulesets that provide the functionality are in the PegaRULES application stack. Building on PegaDM is only required when using revision management.

The reporting categories for IH & Adaptive are also part of the same ruleset that is only available when building on PegaDM. So I would still recommend doing that, although indeed all other functionality is part of the base platform rulesets now.

Processes can be decision-driven by running data flows that execute a strategy. So, you basically need to define a data flow with a source that provides the necessary inputs to run the strategy, and output it (the simplest design pattern is to output it to an abstract destination). In your process flow, configure the run data flow shape so that includes this data flow.

You can refer Strategy in Interaction and call the interaction from activity call pxExecuteInteraction, Pass Interaction Name in Parameter. Done..!
