Does JBOSS 6.x supports PRPC 6.3?

Hello,

While trying to deploy PRPC 6.3 SP1 into JBoss 6.4.8. GA application server we are facing errors.

Deployment failed: prpc_j2ee14_jbossJBM.ear: {"outcome" : "failed", "failure-description" : {"JBAS014671: Failed services" : {"jboss.deployment.unit.\"prpc_j2ee14_jbossJBM.ear\".STRUCTURE" : "org.jboss.msc.service.StartException in service jboss.deployment.unit.\"prpc_j2ee14_jbossJBM.ear\".STRUCTURE: JBAS018733: Failed to process phase STRUCTURE of deployment \"prpc_j2ee14_jbossJBM.ear\"\n Caused by: org.jboss.as.server.deployment.DeploymentUnitProcessingException: JBAS016701: Unsupported ear module type: META-INF/jboss/jboss-prasync-service.xml"}}, "rolled-back" : true}

This deployment is temporary as we want to upgrade the application to PRPC 7.3. So can anyone help us to resolve this issue to install 6.3 SP1?

SR Created for this issue has been closed. 6.3 SP1 media doesn't support to install in JBoss 6.4.8.

We have decided to upgrade the rulebase first to 7.3 and install 7.3 ear files into JBoss AS.

Hi Mahesh,

Thanks for your reply. We did look into the link. The ear file they have mentioned is "prpc_j2ee14_jboss61JBM.ear". Looks like a 6.1 version.

We are trying to install PRPC 6.3SP1 where we have not got this jar file in our media. We got prpc_j2ee14_jbossJBM.ear file for JBoss AS which is throwing the errors.

Hello Veera,

Jboss 6.x officially not supported for Pega 6.3SP1 .

JBoss Redhat EAP 5.0.x all versions are supported and some of the JBoss Redhat EAP 5.1 versions are supported .

Hi Arun,

We agree that official support has been stopped for PRPC 6.3 with JBoss 6.x.

Here we are trying to install 6.3 version for temporarily and upgrade it to 7.3v.

Install PRPC 6.3v in JBoss old version (5.2) which does not support PRPC 7.3 to do the upgrade. Here it is a dead lock.

Do we have any proper approach to achieve this?

Hi Veera,

Initially you can try to install the 6.3 version with any jboss5.x version then upgrade your environment to Pega 7.3 and try to deploy this Pega 7.3 application in the Jboss 6.x version.

This is the approach you can follow to achieve your upgrade from 6.3 to 7.3.

Currently JBoss 5.x is not available with our infrastructure team. Also we could not find 5.x from RedHar website to download one.

I have raised SR for this:SR-B79506.

I too agree with kevin as its not the right approach to raise SR for the request of JBOSS server as you need to download it from the Jboss site. May be you can have a look into this site.
