GIS/ESRI capabilities

Asking for a customer: Checking in to see if any documentation on what Pega 7.1.9 is offering for GIS/ESRI capabilities and when.

Hi Melisa,

We introduced native GIS features I believe in 7.1.6.

The feature set is relatively limited in comparison to full fledged GIS solutions which ESRI can provide.

You can add basic maps sourced from Google for example: https://pdn.pega.com/user-interface/using-the-address-map-control

Regarding ESRI integration, I do not believe we have any documentation for that. But I have helped some customers successfully use ESRI based products to add GIS to their application.

Typically this is done through generic specialty component sections and things of that nature, not specific to GIS. https://pdn.pega.com/pegarules-process-commander/about-specialty-components

Thanks Dan. That is a solid resource but only a Pega internal one at the moment. I believe Melisa was asking for a publicly available resource in the context of native Pega features to incorporate GIS/ESRI. But there is still high value in that document. Maybe you, the Author, and one of the support community moderators/admins can see if it can be reviewed for potential public consumption, assuming the author is comfortable with that.
