Hi
I think it specifies the target attribute or the name of the window, for example _self or _parent.
And the default space is new window. So it opens up the URL in a new window.
This is my assumption about the function. Others in the forum can correct me if I am wrong.

Your assumption might be wrong as in traditional portal the same function opens the url in weork area not in pop up

7.1.6 onwards, there is no concept of 'Space' in Composite portals. In previous versions, you could create spaces on portal ruleform with each space referring to a different portal harness. The API would then open given URL in different space (a portal with different default harness).

So now instead of space , we have dynamic container , right?

To summarize the finding till now
It seems that space means frame,
the method openurlinspace knows the frame name so it loads the url in it,
and not sure what is default space, seems it is default space is internal to pega,
and space has been replaced by dynamic container in pega 7.1.7, we can create dynamic container in a section which can be a single document, or multiple document.
Right?
