Steps to be take care after Email Account password been reset
Hi Team,
Please advice me on this, let me know for any clarifications.

what are the steps we have to follow after the Email Account Receivers password has been reset?
what had been followed from our side:
1. Update password
2. Test Connectivity
Below is the error: This is the same error we had after the password had been expired.
Overall Result
Status - Fail:Configuration
Message - The server indicated that the authentication credentials for this Email Account are incorrect.
List of Steps
Step Result
Establish session for email server Success
Obtain store object Success
Connect to email server Fail
Disconnect Not attempted
3. Restart the Email Listener
Below is the error :
Start Listener Status
Listener 'Data-Admin-Connect-EmailListener:WebContactUs.Listener(com.pega.pegarules.integration.engine.internal.services.email.EmailListener)/9' failed to start because of the following error:

This issue has been resolved.
issue is due to Client IT team has changed the Email Account as the shared Mailbox, where it should be always regular user and can be login interactively. They had changed it to Normal user account now. all Clear and Cool.!

I presume that you saved Email Account instance after updating the password. Test Connectivity would consider updated password instantly and Email Listener need to be restarted for the same.
Which version of PRPC you are using ? Did you verified the new credentials using any other email clients ?

it is a 6.3 SP1, only client can test it that via email clients. we will check with them on this.
we had saved the rule and tested still we could see the error, and while Email Listener restart we face error I mentioned above.

Incase if you use gmail account follow below instructions. Turn on Less secure apps setting and try test connectivity.
Did you get a chance to verify the new credentials using any other email client ?
Also, you could try to perform Test Connectivity of another Email Account rule configured for other test account (may be of public email providers like GMail, Yahoo) and then validate the PRPC behavior by switching between valid and invalid passwords.

Email Client is working fine after password has been reset. Pega is not able to authenticate the Email Account, as result we are having many emails in Queue and waiting for pega to process it.
I have tested the Connectivity with wrong and correct passwords in Test Rule, both has thrown the same authentication error.
It is not the case when I ran a quick test in 6.3SP1. Are you able to connect to other accounts of same email provider/server using Email Account rule in PRPC ?
Did you tried to restart the server, if it works ?
I think, it warrants a Support Request for further analysis on this issue.

yes other account which has same email server config, connectivity is good.
Restart of the server has not worked as well.
we are in touch with Pega Support Team on this.
