Display Modal Dialog if there are no errors.
Hi,
We have requirement where on click of button - we need to validate if the mandatory fields are filled, if filled we need to show Modal dialog with msg & YES or no buttons. If the mandatory fields are not filled - we should not show the Modal dialog.
I referred the discussion Displaying modal dialog box on click of button after validating data entered by user under form fields & have tried this approach of including two buttons with visible condition. This is working fine but there is a issue in the date field.

If you update the date, & then remove the date without clicking outside of the cell, click directly on "Save" button. Am getting the second button action where I have configured Activity, Local action & my Local action is getting fired even when there are errors. Please advice a refresh has to happen when the user doesn't click outside the cell as well. If a refresh happens I will get my First button & the Local action will not be fired. Or is there any other better way other than this

Their is no straight forward way to achieve this use-case, using two buttons to achieve this will not help.Which version of PRPC are you on?

Hi Hema,
We do have the support for conditions on actions in 7.2 and the above use case can be achieved out of the box but it is not on 7.1.6 version.
We have to use a work around to solve this we should use a run script in between the actions and decided on the next action based on execution of first.
Follow below steps :
- Include a hidden property in the section
- Configure 3 actions on the button
- Refresh - this section with pre-activity (based on validation update the value of hidden property )
- Run Script (write a java script function to get the value of the hidden property and if the local action is not required call pega.control.actionSequencer.clearQueue(); so that the next action is skipped )

Hi, I tried the abve approach but it didn't workout.
Am not good in javascript - may be am doing some mistake -Please guide. Below is the script which I included. Have configured three actions as suggested. (refresh section will get the value of the property, run script, local action

In any of the future Pega Release If a when condition is available for Action then it would be very helpful for cases similar to the above one.
But before that Pega may need to know how much such application are there where we have such requirements.
Right? Any comments ?

Hi Nadar, Their is support for conditions on actions of button, this is supported from the latest 7.2 release.

May be i did used wrong word, By action i meant launch local action,Refresh Section etc.
So if there is a condition field, which decides whether to launch/not, then above user need to create two buttons
Instead will create 1 button with 2 action one for validation and other to launch harness. And second will be launched only when a flag is true(Which signifies whether there was a error or not)
So in above case if there is a error we do not launch the local action i.e Modal window
