Can Pega PRPC be used purely as a BRE engine ?
Can Pega PRPC be used purely as a BRE engine - where UI is built outside Pega and we call the Pega Workflow engine using APIs - thus decoupling the UI and the backend workflow processing ?
Just some background below.
My organisation is looking at building applications using APIs as the backbone.
So they have created an ecosystem where all the application UI will have to be deployed.
Then they will be using APIs to call the backend services from UI.
Just wanted to understand how we can make use of Pega in such a scenario.

The short answer is yes. There are some customers are using PRPC as pure BRE engine. Pega has support for jsr94 for a long time, here is a link (the version is old, but the ideas are pretty much the same): https://docs-previous.pega.com/building-jsr-94-services-prpcv52. If your clients are java based, this should be a good starting point.
