Rule already exists error
I'm currently doing the exercise in the Case Hierarchy lesson. I attempted to create the sub case Employee Evaluation as a subcase of Onboarding but accidentally created it in the wrong place. Now whenever I try and create a subcase of Onboarding, I get the error:
Errors: |
|
It does not matter what name I give the new subcase I get this error. I am now unable to create a subcase under Onboarding with any name. I've restarted PVS and tried different browsers but with no success.

Delete the class that represents Employee Evalution and re add it in the correct place.
Designer Studio>System>Tools>Refactor Rules>Delete a Class.

thanks for the suggestion. I have tried that but I get the same error. I also get the same error when I try and create a new sub case under Onboarding with a different name e.g. 'test'.

You should be able to create another subcase with a completely different name and slightly different class (the last part of the class matches the new subcase name) without getting the error. If you get the same error, you are still calling the wrong class somewhere.

I am having the same issue. I have tried several times to use a differnt name but still get the "RULE EXISTS" error. I also tried an alternate approach of creating the EmployeeEvaluation as a stand alone case, then making a subcase (got the same Rule Exists error)--I tried this technique using several different names.
Is there possibly an issue with the 7.1.6 PVC distribution?

Hi, I have the same issue with the Senior System Architect exercise - Case Hierarchy lesson. Not only, that the system did NOT create the case type as suggested as subcase of the Onboarding case type. When trying to add it again as subcase it says ** .pxResults(1): ** Rule already exists.
Any suggestions? I deleted already the SAE-HRServices-Work-EmployeeEvaluation Class with refactor rules function but the same error appears.

I get the same error.

And advise?

Update: I could solve the problem. Adding the Employee Evaluation case type as normal case type magically added it as a subcase to the Onboarding case type. I think there is a little bug in the exercise system.
