Tip #10: Entry point, Exit point, and Label parameters are now displayed on the Palette. You can drag them from the Palette for use in your automations. No need to create lines that connect back to an entry point or connecting lines to parameter values to the exit point. 

You can now set parameters at any point in an automation and the value is automatically passed to the exit point. There is one caveat, however, you must set the exit point Result at the exit point.

Label parameters can also be set upstream in the same manner as exit point parameters.
