Recommended value of initialization/persistrequestor/storage considering High Availability
What is the recommended value for the setting initialization/persistrequestor/storage considering high availability? Is it "database" or "filesystem"? If it is database, then is it not required to set storage/class/passivation :/rootpath?
Will the high availability features work if database is used for shared storage or any other additional configuration is required?

Starting in Pega 7.1.9, if high availability is enabled, the Pega 7 Platform uses database passivation. If high availability is not enabled, the Pega 7 Platform uses either the configured location (filesystem, database, or custom), or, if no location is configured, the temp folder.
Regarding shared storage, if using filesystem passivation, shared storage must be configured for all Pega 7 Platform servers to support quiesce and crash recovery. If using database passivation, the above criteria does not apply because the database handles all storage requirements.
Note that the Pega 7.1.9 HA Admin Guide will be updated with this information and republished to the PDN in the near future.

When you say high availability is enabled, is there a specific configuration setting you are referring to. I know about the setting session/ha/Enabled but that is only for the HA landing page access. Please do let me know if you were referring to anything else.
Also, I am on 7.1.7. I am using database passivation by explicitly setting initialization/persistrequestor/storage to 'database'. I infer from your response that no additional settings are needed for reactivating user sessions. Of course the load balancer is in place and session/ha/crash/RecordWorkInProgress is set to 'true'.

One observation, after all the above mentioned configuration in place, I do not see the the UI being redrawn for reactivated users after crash recovery or a planned outage. I do see the default landing page being displayed, but not the cases which were open in review or perform modes at the time of the outage. I wanted to understand is this what is meant when the HA guide recovery matrix says "Pega 7 Platform application user interface is redrawn". Shouldn't the cases in review mode pop back post reactivation at least?

I like to know the answer to this as well. I just get the user taken back to the default view of the portal.
