PVS instance do not start with the host and the port given
Hi,
I have installed PVS as per the instructions. the VMWare Player is on and from the browser i tried to get into PRPC using http://prpc:8080/prweb/PRServlet or http://prpc.:8080/prweb/PRServlet. Nothing works.
I also tried ifconfig in the VMplayer and used the IPAdress Proprietary information hidden instead of the host. still i dont see the PRPC login page.
I need help as i am not sure what is wrong with my install.

in order, check these top three issues:
1) VPN client running. Some VPN clients do not allow split-tunneling. You may have to quit the VPN client
2) Anti-Virus software. Some anti-virus apps block this type of network traffic. You may have to specifically allow access for the VM.
3) Windows Firewall. Depending on how this is configured, it may be blocking this type of network traffic. You may have to turn Windows Firewall off.

Thank you. The VPN Client did the trick. I disconnected the VPNClient and i was able to login into the instance.
The above points should be added as part of the quick start guide under Tips and Tricks.

***UPDATE: Find a Solution by myself. I installed the newest VWPlayer 12 to get rid of this problem!***

sadly I have to say that i have quite the same problem. I am using Win 10 with ZoneAlarm Firewall and AvastFree Antivirus software. I have installed pvs and I am starting VM with VMPlayer 5.0.1 build-894247.
Link http://prpc:8080/prweb/PRServlet is not working and if i lock in with user and password and using ifconfig there is no IP Address within ETH0.
Network Adapter Setting is NAT (tried all different types) and I tried to switched off Firewall and Antivirus without success!
Any idea?

We have now switched to VirtualBox. Review the new Quick Start Guide.
Go to https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads. Most likely you want the x86/amd64 version.
Download the latest exercise system. Unzip using 7-zip.
Install VirtualBox. With the VirtualBox running, click on the exercise system's ".vbox" file.
You should first try the default "Host-only Adapter" option under Machine -> Settings -> Network
Your IP address should start with 192.168.

If there is no IP Address within ETH0, the problem may be your VMWare network adapters. Reinstalling VMWare will reset them.FYI: There is a separate forum specifically for the PVS system. I suggest you look for additional answers there.
