Seems like the answer is not right for below question as all the connector rules can only use BMT.

Connector rules can actually use both BMT and CMT. When a connector is accessed in a user session (which is the most common use case) it can only be managed by BMT. However, if a connector is invoked by a service configured as CMT the connector would also be part of that container-managed transaction.
