How to refactor rule set details when refactoring rules?
hi All,
I am going thru my learing and working on exercise related to Import rules to perform a background check.
This is related to exercise in the System Architect Essentials I (7.1) course and Accessing External systems.
The issue is I have created application with different name and when trying to import Rules, I am not able to change ruleset names thhough I am able to change class names.
Becasue of this, rules are not getting imported correctly.
Could anybody help how to import rules successfull in this scenario?
regards
Abhay

Abhay,
Import the rules, then change the name of the imported Class to match your naming conventions.
DesignerStudio>System>Tools>RefactorRules>RenameAClass

Rathw,
thanks.
I did that. but this only helps in chsnging rule classes. I am not able to change actual rulesets. The import wizard is not displaying anything to change the rules sets as well.
I believe only changing rule classes, will not work

Abhay,
You should not have created any new RuleSets when you built this application. You should have built the application in the existing RuleSets. What is the name of the RuleSets your application is built in? What is the name of the classes. Generally you can rename the classes on the imported files, then they can be found and will work.
Thanks

hi Rathw,
I have created application with different naming convention as on traning environment, the same names and rule sets were already present.
the instance created is ABC-HRRecrui instead of SAE-HRSErvices and Rulesets are HRRecrui instead of HRServices.
becasue of this even if the import is sucessful I am not able to change rulesets details though I can change class names associated with the instance.

I have had people be successful with this exercise by changing the names of the imported files using the refactoring tools. They changed the imported rules to match thier naming constructs and were able to do this exercise. I am not sure why you are experiencing something different.

Abhay,
I am not sure why this is not importing correctly. You can move ahead and finish additional exercises without this one working. Once you have completed the course, have us reset your exercise system and rebuild this again using the correct class structure. You would not have to build the entire exercise again. We could do the reset now if you like. When you want us to reset your exercise system send an email with the your name and course to [email protected].
Thanks,

Thanks. I think this way you will get done with the course and can practice after the reset.
