How node name is retrieved from unix server by Pega?
HI All,
Could you please know how Node name (in system node) is picked up by Pega? We need which property of the unix server Pega is picking as Node Name. Any response is much appreciated.

The pxSystemNodeID value is a hashed value of the PRPC systemname, the server's host name and the PegaTemp directory path.
During server or JVM startup if the PRPC engine detects any change in value of either the PRPC system name, server's host name or thePegaTemp directory path it will generate a new hash for the pxSystemNodeID.

One of my colleagues mentioned prbeans.jar might be doing that.

Is there a possibility to configure the server's host name to use?
I face the problem that somehow the name of the machine is used towards AES, and not the actual virtual hostname. And only the virtual hostname can be used to access PRPC.
This is seen on a Pega 7.1.7 cluster on WebSphere 8.5 and RHEL6.

Found out that in a java step of an activity pega.getNodeURL() is called. This maps to java class com.pega.pegarules.session.internal.mgmt.Executable.getNodeURL().
This method returns the hostname. What I am looking for is a configuration option so that it will return the actual used WebSpere virtual hostname. Either in PRPC or WebSphere.
So how to configure PRPC+WebSphere so that the virtual hostname is used and not the server name?
