How to call custom javascript and html onclick of button in section?

Dear Pegaites,

I have a requirement to show confirm window on click of button which is in section. Once i click on OK of confirm dialog, it should close the current section. Not sure how to achieve this.

Thanks Bhavya for the response. My question is specific to calling a Javascript on click of button lets say to display confimr dialog and then accessing the section from withing Javascript/Java/HTMLS to close it.

The above method I already have tried but I am more interested in calling the script/java on click of button and sending back the response.
