I came back to this. Once I made a copy of the segment and strategy, both the original and copy were available to the program - I couldn't work out why just copying the originals made a difference. Can someone tell me? I didn't need to use the copy and completed the exercise with the original.  I experienced the same with the exercise in the adaptive model module and resolved it the same way: simply made a copy of each artifact, but used the original.
