Extending a framework
if I add customer extensions to a framework (insurance, etc.) how are these treated when a new framework version is released - are there best practice guides for isolating customizations and being able to take advantage of new features in a nwely released upgrade? - we have a client looking to intergrate our captuire solution - they are builiding out their application starting with the framework.

question was are the user extension made to processes, forms, etc prsenrver at upgrade time or are there tools for assessing impact (as i understand it no automatic upgrades)

In addition to the framework's implementation guides, please stay within the guardrails which will also contribute to smoother upgrades.
