Connect Java Couldn't resolve the required java object

Hello,

Connect Java from Pega 7.1.8 with jre 1.6 with external system on java version 1.8 and application server IBM J9 VM gives problem once the flow which have the integrator runs. Error returns as Couldn't resolve the required java object.

I have gone through chrome-extension://oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm/https://pdn.pega.com/documents/platform-support-guide and found that IBM J9 VM can support jre 1.8.0.

Help is suggesting the feasibility of upgrading java version in Pega PRPC and also the impacts.

At our end Pega PRPC is running on IBM J9 VM with java.fullversion and java.vm.info JRE 1.6.0 IBM J9 2.4 AIX ppc64-64 jvmap6460sr16fp7-20150701_255724 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled) J9VM - 20150701_255724 JIT - r9_20150630_95420 GC - GA24_Java6_SR16_20150701_1008_B255724_CMPRSS and java.compiler is j9jit24.

We are trying to integrate with AXON API for BPMS as a consumer. It need JDK 1.8 version. https://fusion.mastercard.com/confluence/display/API/Basics

Since the java versions are not same for Pega and the External source the java object could not be resolved at Pega end and we are stuck.

Now as per the Pega product support documents Pega can run on any java version.

As per the chrome-extension://oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm/https://pdn.pega.com/documents/platform-support-guide WebSphere Platform 7.0.x is running on Java version = 1.6.0.

WebSphere Platform Proprietary information hidden is running on Java version = 1.6.0. Since this is the WebSphere version we have in our servers as of now.

 

So as per my understanding it is Websphere Platform which need to be upgraded so that java version 1.8.0 can be unleashed.

Please suggest if it is so. If not Please let me know what we need to do to address the problem.

Yes, I am looking to get java 1.8.0 at my end but don't know if it is possible or not. I have also sent a detailed reply on this. Please check.
