Common upgrade questions
Q) What happens to inflight case objects during/after upgrade ?
A) Upgrade must not affect any inflight work objects. They will continue to work as-is prior to upgrade
Q) Is it possible to rollback upgrade completely if something goes wrong ?
A) Not possible. It is recommended to take a full backup of the database before and during major steps of the upgrade
Q) Where is the landing page to purge old rules?
A) Landing page is not available to purge old Pega rules. A cleanup script is available which can remove the old version of Pega rulebase.Application rules can also be deleted after they are skimmed to a major ruleset
Q) I have a custom split schema in 6.x versions. How can I move to Pega 7 ?
A) Split schema is supported from Pega 7 only. If earlier versions have been customized to support split schema, there are multiple ways to bring it to Pega 7 compliant split schema depending on the customizations. Upgrade process will be simpler with the recommended single schema configuration
Q) What should I do to make my user interface HTML5 compliant ?
A) Pega 7 supports HTML5 and comes with a slew of tools to facilitate responsive UI. Old user interfaces can be upgraded/modified with readily available tools to make them compliant. More details are available here
Q) How to convert smart layouts to dynamic layouts ?
A) Smart layouts can be converted to dynamic layouts automatically. After upgrade, if a section is revalidated and saved, an 'Update layout' button will be available which can update all the smart layouts into appropriate dynamic layouts
Q) What are the different hardware requirement for Pega 7 ?
A) Complete details of the supported platforms can be obtained from the platform support guide.
Q) If platform stack update is required, should we do it before or after upgrade ?
A) It is recommended to do the platform stack update to prior to upgrade

One more question added :
a) Is it mandatory to make the upgraded application HTML5 compliant ?
Ans : Not necissarly but to consume most of the latest features of PEGA 7 , you might have to do this excercise very soon depending upon the browser stack of the end users.

Hi All,
We are upgrading Pega application from 6.2 to 7.1.8
How to upgrade Declare page which are in 6.2 to Data pages which are in pega 7.1.
Can we use declare pages with Declare_ as is in Pega 7 also ?
Please suggest
