Automating the IE Download Bar
There have been previous posts on automating the IE Download Bar. The product now has new methods for clicking items that are not directly able to be interrogated. These methods (ClickChildByText and ClickChildByName) almost completely close the gap for working with the Download Bar directly. Here is the latest solution that demonstrates how to automate this control.

Thanks Jeff for the solution, we have used the same solution but having issue in matching the "Save As" window when running the Bot in system locked state. The solution works well when we run the Bot in unlock case. Any suggestion on what can be done to fix this issue.

I stand corrected. The download bar is not what isn't created, it is the Save As menu option. If you elect to do a Save instead, it will work. The Save should place the file in the Downloads folder. Thank you to Jeff B for the correction.

Hi, I downloaded the solution file and tried to run a series of tests. When I click on the "download 1MB file" button I get the same response regardless of the download option I select (Save, Save As, or Save and Open). I get the prompt for the download bar and then nothing. Any ideas why?

I have Pega Robotics Studio v.8.0.1089.0 installed. As mentioned here, I'm trying to find ClickChildByText in OpenSpan.Adapters.dll, but I can't see it in there - just ClickWindowChildByText (see "ClickChildByText.png" attached). Is that what I'm looking for or not?
And how to use it? What should I pass to automationElementChild and target?
Could you please provide some usage example?
P.S. I can see ClickChildByText in Test Methods while performing interrogation with windows application.

I just wanted to know if GetValuebyText or GetValueByOCR methods of Download Bar control has a specific timeout.
Could you please give some inputs on this.

This solution is failing for me for the Save As option. Is there some kind of updated required in terms of the C# script used? What can I provide to troubleshoot this? I do not see any errors in the logs. I am running Pega Robot Studio Proprietary information hidden (Version 14.0.25420.1 D14REL)

I was able to get this working in the attached solution. I think that two things changed;
- The Save button on the Dialog wasn't working when I used PerformClick. I switched it to use ClickByText which worked fine. SendKeys {Enter} also worked, but I would avoid that if possible.
- The properties for the dialog may have changed, so the script is failing. I modified it and it seems to be working now.
