About DeployMent Manager Service Usage
Hi all,
We are using Deployment Manager 5 as on-prem environment (It runs on liberty was servers). And we are going to migrate our DM application from liberty servers to openshift env. untill we saw the Comparison of Deployment Manager products documentatation. In the article Deployment Manager will be end of life on September 30, 2026. and instead of using DM on-prem Deployment Manager Service is suggested by Pega. But as we understand from the article Deployment Manager Service is usable for only Pega Cloud Env. and Our Pega Environent runs on openshift platform as on-prem. So my question is Is there any possiblity to use Deployment Manager Service with Pega on-prem env? If not Pega will provide that functionality in future? Otherwise we can't use Deployment Manager' functionalities to control best practices and manage our package release although we are pleasure to use it.
Best Regards.
@SonerT72 I think Deployment Manager Service is a cloud-only solution and is supported only for Pega Cloud environments, so it cannot currently be used to orchestrate pipelines for on-prem or OpenShift-hosted Pega applications. For on-prem/OpenShift, you would need to keep using Deployment Manager 5 until end of life, or move your pipelines to an external CI/CD tool (for example Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab) using Pega’s DevOps APIs and REST services. As of now there is no public statement from Pega that Deployment Manager Service will support on-prem in the future, so the recommended path is either migration to Pega Cloud or adopting a standard CI/CD platform to manage quality gates, best-practice checks, and release automation for your OpenShift environments.
