In Pega Platform version 7.2.1 and later, the Required option is deprecated for column headers of a table. Hence, column headers of a table no longer display asterisk (*) to indicate required or mandatory for columns.
Scenario 1: Missing required (*) symbol from column headers of tables
The asterisk (*) is missing from grid column headers that are configured as Required in a table.
Explanation
After updating to Pega Platform version 7.2.1 or later, grid column headers of a table are labels. The Required option or Required always option is unavailable for column headers of a table layout.
Environment
The issue occurs in the following environments:
- Pega Platform version 7.4 on-premises
- Pega Platform version 8.6 on Pega Cloud 2.20.8
- Pega Platform version 8.6 on-premises
Solution
A backward-compatibility defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. After updating to Pega Platform version 7.2.1 or later, complete the following steps:
- Delete the old column headers of the old table.
- Create the same table with the new grid column headers.
The required validation remains.
Scenario 2: Missing required (*) symbol from properties of tables
The mandatory icon or required icon or asterisk (*) symbol is missing from newly added properties that are configured as Required in a table. Similarly, if a previously non-mandatory property of a table is configured as Required, its header does not display the asterisk (*) symbol.
Explanation
After updating to Pega Platform version 7.2.1 or later, the column headers of a table are labels. The Required option or Required always option is unavailable for properties of a table.
Environment
The issue occurs in the Pega Platform version 8.3.4 on Pega Cloud 2.16.3
