Why is case status reset on "Go" but saved on "Save for Later"?
In Pega Platform (v25.1.1), when a case enters a stage with a status configured (e.g., Open), we observe that any status update (e.g., In-Progress) done during processing is not retained when the user clicks on Go to start processing the case.
However, the updated status is persisted when the user clicks Save for Later.
Is this expected platform behavior related to stage status being re-applied on opening the assignment, and can you confirm the recommended approach to conditionally update case status without it being overridden on "Go"?

Where the case status is updated? at stage level or Step level? if it's at step level, then it's expected scenarion.

@RameshSangili The case status is updated using a data transform before the assignment step in the flow. As a pre-DT.

@RameshSangili The Stage has a different status as "Open". The step inside this stage has another status as "In-Progress".
Upon clicking on GO, we need the case to change from Open to In-Progress.
Currently, this is not happening. It remains as Open. Only if we click on Save for later, the status changes to In-Progress.
This was updating properly in V24.2.3. When the application was upgraded to V25.1.1 we encountered this issue.
We need the status of the step to persist.
