Why are components timestamped
Just a question out of curiosity: When creating a new component, why is there a timestamp added to the identifier? It strikes me as somewhat ambiguous in conjunction with the added version number. Is it to ensure that you can still add two different components (e.g., from different creators) even though the name and version number are the same?

Components are basically timestamped for tracking/Auditing purpose only. Much like rules available in PEGA rulesets, we can create different version of the same rules for facilitating change management tracking and parallel development.
So, same component can be updated with parallel development by different team but they will have different timestamp or version for tracking/Auditing purposes. PEGA won't allow the system to add same component with same version and same timestamp, so it should always follow the best practice for change management that we do with rulesets also.
