Why and how is Expand/Collapse icon set to OpenAssignment Icon in a Tree Grid Layout?

Hi All,

When my case is routed to somebody, I see an icon in the case contents tree grid layout while the customer is expecting no icon to be displayed.

Can somebody help me where is it fetched from and how to remove it? PFA doc for the design screenshots.
