What are different ways to Generate PDF (of a section) other than EForm to keep the layout as it is?

Note : I have tried HTMLToPDF. It doesn't keeps the layout as formatted in the section.

I am using Pega 8.1 where there is no Free Form Layout or Smart Layout.

hi, 

Are you stating that using the layout format like inline/inline grid is not displaying as required in the PD when you are using the HTML TO PDF smar shape ?

(If this correct then we will be checking the same inhouse and proceed further)

Hi @Piyush,

As far as I know the CSS referred in the section can't be available for the PDF.

So you need to either write custom HTML or use Paragraph rules in Section to get the desired output.

We have used freefrom layouts in Pega 7.x versions and it works but with some customization using embedded styling(not CSS classes).

Hi,

Provide a compact css file which contains default styles for the PDF to render dynamic layout formats in PDF ( inline grid double, triple etc ).
 
Following are the ways to Ignore application skin and use pyCompactStylesforPDF.css instead.This compact stylesheet is an available rule .
 
Using DSS Setting:
              Set DSS setting, UseCompactStylesforPDF to true
 
Using Activity Parameter:
            Call any of the above activites (CreatePDF/pyAttachAsPDF/HTMLToPDF ) by setting UseCompactStylesforPDF to true.
 
            UseCompactStylesforPDF param takes the precedence over DSS settinga and DSS setting will be used if this param is not passed explicitly .
