Web Adapter pointing to Production URL
Hello All,
We have automated a web application and during our development we used the Testing environment URL for development and if we want to deploy the code to Production as per my knowledge is see that we have to change the Web Adapter URL to production URL and release it to production. but the here we need to change the Code again just for URL, is there any other way how we handle this scenario.

Hello,
you can use the Configuration files, to use parametric values based based on environments.
ex - use one config for DEV , other for STAGE , and another for PROD.
How to use ??
1. first add cofiguration file to project ( as below snap)
2. on the URL match rule , right-click and configure according to environment as below.
now , while deployment , u can select the desired config , no need to change packages manually.

from your comment i understand that Openspan will use those configuration for matching purpose, we have written the code such a way that we dont depend on the URL match rule, the thing that i would like to parameterise is the "StartPage" property of a web adapter for different environments

in such case , you pass the value of URL into the startPage property of web adapter.
this input can be made parametric by multiple ways-
- pass value from Config file to a variable and pass that dynamically into startPage
- pass this value from an external file , into startPage property

i was looking for first approach i was trying this but i dont have any luck so far, if you know any steps could you please help me out.
on the second approach, if we maintain any external file, does that mean that should we also have to move that external file for each machine where ever i want to deploy the code.

global system settings or system settings can help here. we can have urls saved specific to production level and get it using functions.
