Valuelist value group in parse xml
Value List and Value Group property types are not encouraged as they are not operable in data transforms. Instead, it is suggested to use Page List and Page Group property types.
Is this information correct? Because I haven't seen this information anywhere except pdn forums.

Reviewing the relevant posts (both external and internal), this seems to be accurate (the answer is from SME so that adds the weight on the statement). Even if value list can work, it normally requires more steps (and you cannot use data transforms).
