@EdD51794 As per my understanding, The Validation Tool in Pega and the Validate Development Standards task in Deployment Manager both check for guardrail compliance and best practices, but they work differently. The Validation Tool is run manually by developers to review rules and identify issues like unused rules or guardrail violations. The Validate Development Standards task is part of the deployment pipeline and runs automatically, using either the default policy or a custom policy to check for deployment readiness. While both perform similar validations, the Deployment Manager task focuses more on ensuring the application is ready for promotion, and it may not include all validations from the Validation Tool unless the policy is customized. To ensure thorough validation, use the Validation Tool for in-depth reviews and the Validate Development Standards task for automated checks during deployment. Let me know if you have any questions. thanks

Thank you for the response.
In our process before a deployment pipeline is run the validation tool is run (trust but verify) that the developers have not missed anything. Any suggestions on were to research he customization of the default policy assuring the validations from the Validation Tool are run
Thank you again

@EdD51794 Hi, To ensure the default policy in the Validate Development Standards task aligns with the validations from the Validation Tool, you can customize the policy by modifying the Application Validation Configuration. This is accessible under Configure → Application → Quality → Compliance Policies. You can review and update the validation checks, adding custom guardrails them with the organization's specific standards.

Validation tool and Validate Development Standards are different. The Validate Development Standards task is enforcing hand-picked and high-value guardrail warnings which are preventing the introduction of potential issues in future. The task in questions does allow a developer to merge if there have any violations to the defined list of guardrails and similar check is performed during the deployment. You can manage the list or Policy (As we call it) from the Deployment Manager only. Please see Manage development standards .

@Sairohith I am working with Pega Platform 8.8.1 and Pega Customer Service 8.8.1 and do not see the the "Compliance Policies." option. What platform are you using
