Upgrade from pxActiviyStream to pxFeed i.e. using Pulse

We are migrating our application from pega 7.1.x to Pega 8.5 and as part of it wanted to use Pega Pulse (pxFeed) instead of the older pxActivityStream.

I wanted to know if pxFeed is backwards compatible i.e. whether the messages and files attached using pxActivityStream would still be visible in pxFeed or are there any limitations.

As a test i just replaced pxActivityStream to PulseGadge and I did see the older messages since they use the same table internally. 

I wanted to check with experts if there is anything I should be careful about.
