Understand the Importance of local_access_log

Hi ,

The system is getting slower every time and I don't see any major exception or alerts in logs except local_access_log which are getting added with more size. I want to understand the importance of Local_Access_logs. when it gets created in system

Access logs are special kind of logs that contain information regarding logging and usage activity of any resource from an host
This file is specific to Tomcat.
