Unable to Start WAS/Orcale Deployment

After configuring WAS for Oracle. Pega will not start, and has the following errors:

Any ideas? I think it has to do with the data source set up in WAS. Pega is trying to hit up against the rules schema for tables that are only present in the data schema.

Hi,

I restarted the WAS App server and attaching the fresh logs of PegaRULES and ALERT.

I guess the PEGARULESUSRWAS.pr_data_admin error was because initially I had the rules user in Datasource. I corrected it and now restarted the WAS App server.

Updated logs are attached.

Hi,

Did you provide JNDI name and Connection pool settings properly? Is oracle up and running whichever you provided in the connection pool? as per log the DB connection is not able to establish.

I'd be surprised if Oracle would send back an ORA-00942 if it wasn't able to connect.

At this point of the startup it should be generating a query against dataschema.PR_DATA_ADMIN

Could you check that you've set your schema mapping for the Data and Rules schemes?

Also check you've got the appropriate permissions by connecting directly through SQL (as the data user) and try running:  -

desc dataschema.pr_data_admin

 

Substituting dataschema with the name of your data schema, of course.

Also please find the below mapping of rules and data schema in the WAS Console.

  1. Name Space Bindings – has both pegarules schema detail and pegadata schema detail.

          Binding identifier – PegaRULESDefaultSchema

          Name in namespace – prconfig/database/databases/PegaRULES/defaultSchema

          String value – my rules schema name – pegarulesusrwas

 

          Binding identifier – PegaDATADefaultSchema

          Name in namespace – prconfig/database/databases/PegaDATA/defaultSchema

  1. Data source Name – PegaRULES

         Data source JNDI Name – jdbc/PegaRULES

However in data source name and JNDI name, we have given PegaRULES and jdbc/PegaRULES. And in JAAS – J2C authentication data, we are providing datauser credential.

Kindly suggest if the datasource name and jndi name should be related to data user only.

Hi,

In the logs it is connecting to PEGARULESUSRWAS.pr_data_admin but when you run the query from SQL developer it is pegadatausrwas.pr_data_admin.. Please re-validate the schemas once.

Hi,

I restarted the WAS App server and attaching the fresh logs of PegaRULES and ALERT.

I guess the PEGARULESUSRWAS.pr_data_admin error was because initially I had the rules user in Datasource. I corrected it and now restarted the WAS App server.

Updated logs are attached.
