Unable to import sample Event Planning App

I'm using the latest trial community version and tried to import the sample event planning app. It went well until I was prompted for a repo. I received a permission error at that point. Now the app doesn't appear in my list of apps. I've tried logging in and out, still doesn't work. How do I recover from this?
