Track external links' click

There are several external links which are provided on user portal (thru navigation menus/links). Now there is business requirement to “track the number of times those external links are clicked/launched”.

Pega is not the tool to capture the clicks. What is the best way to do this? Although we can just call an activity to do this before “Open URL in Window” action.
