Trace User Session for SSO Authentication

I am referring to the below article for which I didn't find any proper way to trace the requestor session which uses SSO authentication:--

I need to know all the rules (including starting activity which I can trace) when a requestor is authenticated via SSO. Does adding wait step in the starting activity or changing the requestor context is the only option to trace the session here?
