System issue when creating data page; CSA1 self-study exercises - cannot create data page
Subject line has it - some issues with the cloud learning instance(s). Attempting to create a new Data Table is causing an uncaught js error and, therefore, fails to launch the required modal. Unfortunately, $1.5k of training credits does not make me a 'customer', so I have no other avenue to report system issues.
Uncaught TypeError: G.showModalDialog is not a function

Does this problem happen with more than one browser ? IE ? Chrome ?
If you trace it with Pega tracer, do you get red lines ? Does the pega log file show an error ? Possible a fiddler would help. /Eric

Thanks for the quick reply. I had not used tracer before – but it does not reveal anything when I do (in Chrome 43.0.2357.1234 m).
The alt browser suggestion worked! This dialog does properly launch in IE 11.0.9600.17842, so I at least have a workaround for my training; hate to postpone something as important as SAE1 Data Tables.

Hi Scott,
Here is a link to a PDN article with additional information regarding the error. When Google released Chrome version 37, they removed support for the Window.showModalDialog(). The Designer Studio rule forms have been modified in 7.1.7 to address the issue. For prior versions, it is recommended to use Internet Explorer as you have done.
