Is there any way to configure the OAuth 2.0 Token Exchange protocol as described in RFC 8693 in the context of an authentication profile? Is there any plan to support this ootb?

In our case we need to exchange the token of the current SSO session (which was issued by IDP 1) for a new one via the token exchange protocol. The new token is needed to call a REST endpoint. 

While searching for a solution I only found this discussion from 2019. Is there any update on this or is a custom DataPage which calls the needed Oauth Endpoints still the only solution?
