SCRAM authentication in Kafka

Hi Team,

We started setting up an integration between Pega Platform v7.3 and external Kafka in 2020. The roadblock we hit was the unavailability of SCRAM authentication. We went back and forth for a few weeks until I was advised to wait for the product enhancement FDBK-30087. We have since moved to a newer version but as of v8.5.1 , the authentications supported are still PLAIN and KERBEROS.

Can someone please tell me if this enhancement is in the horizon and if so, when can we expect the same. In the meantime, is there a workaround other than connecting to an unauthenticated topic ?
